WHO
WE ARE
Since 1948, the Gamma Iota Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated has worked tirelessly in Chattanooga, TN and its surrounding areas to exhibit our sorority's ideals: Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood. Without the foundation laid by five Chattanooga women, our chapter and its numerous groundbreaking activities would not exist.
Gamma Iota Zeta's story began with three Zetas -- two of whom were cousins. The video is from a 2009 interview with Triumphant Charter Member Mabel Humphrey Scruggs who joined our beloved sisterhood at Psi Chapter, Clark College, Atlanta, GA.
Gamma Iota Zeta Chapter received its charter -- signed by the 12th International President Lullelia Walker Harrison -- on March 2, 1948.
